It was such a pleasure working with Liliana and Miguel. We were so happy to provide the lighting for their beautiful wedding. Liliana wanted a Custom Gobo with damask that would wow her guests, and Miguel wanted the room at The Four Points Sheraton to be transformed with blue LED Uplighting. We came together with a lighting design that would bring the lighting elements most important to them together, and transform the room from average to stunning. Their cake was so beautiful that we decided to show the beautiful details by spotlighting it with Cake Pinspot Lighting. Event Planner Sharon Cole, from A Dream Wedding by Sharon Cole made sure the wedding ceremony and reception flowed without a hitch, and that the Bride and Grooms’ every wish was tended to.

It was such a pleasure working with Mercedes and Maria from Event Supplier Inc. Their Florals, and Linens with the sexy black spandex chair covers were absolutely stunning.

What is a Lighting Gobo?

A Gobo is a small disc the size of a silver dollar, it comes with a standard design, or a custom design. A Gobo is either made out of steel or out of glass. It’s inserted into a Lighting Fixture with a high powered lamp and is projected onto a wall, ballroom floor, or ceiling. A gobo can be used to highlight the name of a company, as an advertisement outside of a building, or to put in lights the theme of your Wedding Gobowedding.  It can be a monogram of your names,  or a symbol that you’ve printed on your wedding stationary. A good way to describe a Wedding Gobo is, it’s a steel or glass disc with your wedding logo cut into it, that will be strategically  projected onto an area like a large wall, or ballroom floor.Custom Wedding Gobo

Choosing Lighting Colors For Your Wedding Reception

There are so many variables involved in ensuring the lighting design for your event is  going to be a success. Today we’re going to cover how lighting colors affect the mood and look of your wedding reception.

Things to consider are the existing colors and textures of the the ballroom were your reception is going to be held. If the walls are in light colors then just about any color will work, but lets say that the walls have a wood effect. Using colors like blue or green do not blend well with wood.

Make sure that the colors you choose for your lighting are going to put your guests at ease and show them in the best light possible. Certain lighting colors will tend to give your guests a drawn out  appearance, and other colors will bring out the best in them.  Also lighting colors affect how your food looks. If the color is green then a green hue is going to be cast on your food. A beautifully cooked fillet won’t look so appetizing if it has a green hue to it.

If you want to have an elegant, and warm reception, then the warmer colors like an amber, gold or yellow are recommended. These colors are popular because they give the effect of candlelight, and they make guests  look and feel good. Your lighting designer will work with you to ensure that the colors you choose for your event are going to be perfect for you.
